Santeon offers several models for the integration of business logic into the platform from a simple import of an external component containing logic to the capability to write .Net based language code directly into business logic containers. Advanced users such as developer have full access to these code containers and can modify, extend or replace code logic and redeploy them without impacting the process cycle.

Customizing the Business Rules - for the manager (process owner)
Recognizing that business rules change more frequency that business processes, Santéon provides business rules owners with a visual drag-and-drop environment for constructing and changing dynamic business rules without the need to learn a proprietary rules construction language or learn complex logical constructs. Using the XIP Dynamic Business Rules Manager, the technical staff can set-up functions that business users can drag-and-drop to create simple or complex business logic without any coding.

Customizing the Process Flow - for the manager (process owner)
Santéon's visual integration modeling environment enables users to use familiar drag-and-drop controls to draw the flow of the process aided by a set of embedded wizards that walk the users through a step-by-step process for choosing the proper configuration setting and the associated actions. The tool also provides advanced technical views (that are in a deeper view that doesn't disrupt the business user) to configure the actions and activities of the process into a fully executable model. Because the models are visual and produce auto-documentation, they can be reviewed by front-line business users and executives for rapid understanding of the process to gain input and approval. Not only does this lead to a higher quality process design, but also the advantage of gaining buy-in and building momentum for any change across stakeholder groups.

Customizing the User Interface - for managers & developer to design for business users
Using Santéon's rich visual drag-and-drop XIP Form Designer Module, business users can build rich forms. The visual user interface (GUI) customization capabilities abstracts users from having to worry about technical details such as database transactions, data persistence and retrieval and focus on the look and feel customization to fit their user base needs. Advanced users can then add intelligent functionality and interactions, including automatic data-binding as well as client side logic and validation.

Customizing the Real-time Interactions - for business users, managers, executives, and technical users
All stakeholders in a business process need real-time interaction with process and insight into process efficiencies and status.

• Business users: Front-line staff has day-to-day, user-friendly access to centralized information they need. The 'Outlook-like' Human Interaction interface and Portal environment offers access to assigned tasks, alerts for priority decisions or issues, centralized information and interaction with data and decisions moving through the process, processes to initiate, queries and reports for status and tracking. The design of the Human Interaction can automate tasks that improve the standard way the organization acts as well as reducing mundane tasks, leaving staff to focus on decisions and exceptions that require human intervention.
• Managers: Oversight and audit-trail of all activities within the process is provided through the XIP Monitor business activity monitoring which has both real-time and historical information. The XIP Monitor gives managers the ability to set and change thresholds for performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These KPIs can trigger automated actions or notifications to optimize how the performance runs in real-time, or gather historical information and patterns to rapidly identify problems that may be resolved by manager intervention or process modification.

  Managers can automate supervisory approval activities to add controls to the process in real-time through the Human Interaction.

  Additionally, approval, signatures or notification can be built-in to the Human Interaction for any activities leadership or managers want to approve (e.g., approve any invoice over $30,000, approve any rejections to applications where the applicant is a previous account, review any modifications to contracts with a particular business partner, or any level of detail desired).
