Intelligent Document Technology
Forms that carry inherent intelligence
Santéon offers the industry's first Intelligent Document Technology (IDT) to enable users to interact with forms that carry inherent intelligence more seamlessly by embedding directly into the form the data binding logic, the rules of processing, and the flow knowledge. This allows users to focus more on the business rules associated with the process rather then what happens to the data on the Form and where should the form go next. A robust and scalable business process management (BPM) platform provides both the capabilities to build processes that are fully automated as well as processes that allow users to participate in the process lifecycle by intercepting message, documents and transactions as they are flowing though, and to perform actions that could impact the flow and data content. A signature of a true user-centric BPM platform is how it handles "Form Document" from the design phase to the deployment and user interaction phase. Design once, deploy anywhere As organizations increase their reach by expanding processes into the Web or onto devices, it is critical that investments made into building integration components be reused as needed. Santéon's XIP Form Designer assists users in building rich user interfaces using drag and drop capabilities while abstracting them from the target deployment. The Santéon XIP Form designer can render forms on any target presentation layer ranging from Desktop Applications, to Web Browsers, Tablet PC based notebook for hand-writing capabilities to handheld PDA devices running Windows PocketPC. This powerful capability enables organization invest only once in the document user interface and push out to newer platform as desired when needed without modifications or downtime.
Smart data and smart process
Every document designed in the Santéon XIP Form Designer carries its own knowledge of what the data-types are, what their persistence attributes are, and how the data should be represented in the UI, by automatically suggesting the most appropriate visualization control for the type of data to be displayed. When data flows through the Form, the form will intelligently read the data stream, parse the data elements and assign them to the appropriate controls for display using intelligent control choices. The users can then work with and change the data while the form is intelligently capturing the state before and after the change, update an audit trail and saves the new data automatically in its persistence store.
Write your own logic One of the most powerful features of the IDT is the capability to write business logic for validation and calculation directly into the document regardless of the final presentation layer that this document or form will be rendered. This allows developers of the forms to focus on writing the associated business rules without having to learn the presentation layer and UI syntax of every platform such as how to write logic for a PDA user interface. Additionally, Santéon provides users a visual event driven development environment where they can construct business logic with full capability to test it and debug it prior to deploying it. Associate additional attributes In addition to the very rich capabilities of the IDT, each form designed using the IDT framework, automatically inherits a set of attributes that are essential to the identification and tracking of the form flow. Each form document automatically tracks its path within the process flow, keeping track of who and when a system or a user handled this form. Additionally, the form carries attributes such as the ability to add associated notes to the form as well ability to add errors and corrective actions. |
